UK Overseas Territories Day, celebrated on the first Monday of each June, marks a moment to recognise the unique character, contribution, and enduring partnership of the fourteen UK Overseas Territories – diverse partnership of the fourteen UK Overseas Territories – diverse communities spanning the Atlantic, Caribbean, and Pacific, bound together by shared heritage and a common bond with Britain.

On 1st June 2026, the Premier of Bermuda joined Ministers, Dignitaries, Ambassadors, High Commissioners, UK Representatives, and friends of the Overseas Territories to celebrate OT Day in the heart of Westminster.

As part of Bermuda’s Chairmanship of the UK Overseas Territories Association (UKOTA), the Government of Bermuda London Office was proud to organise a reception graciously hosted by the Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons, at Speaker’s House in the Palace of Westminster.

In a gesture of appreciation, the Premier presented Sir Lindsay Hoyle with a wreath featuring the flora of all the UK Overseas Territories – a fitting symbol of the unity and diversity that define our family of Territories.

Following the reception at the Speaker’s House, the Premier unveiled an exhibition on the UK Overseas Territories in Portcullis House at the heart of the Parliamentary Estate. The Exhibition was produced by the Bermuda London Office, hosted in collaboration with the Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle.

It highlights the rich diversity of the Territories, shining a spotlight on our people, cultures, modern systems of governance, economic contributions, trade and investment opportunities, unique natural environments, and ongoing efforts to address climate change and protect biodiversity.

The Day ended with an Overseas Territories Evensong Service at Westminster Abbey, a traditional Anglican choral service of prayer and reflection held in the late afternoon. On behalf of UKOTA, the Premier read the first lesson in front of dignitaries from across the London Diplomatic Community.
