The Government of Bermuda London Office is pleased to advise of the selection of two young Bermudians, Mr Jasiah Durham and Ms Katherine Gunther, to participate in the 2025 United Kingdom Overseas Territories Association (UKOTA) Youth Summit, representing Bermuda.

The UKOTA Overseas Territories Youth Summit is a prominent forum that began in 2023, designed to empower the youth of the UK Overseas Territories by encouraging innovative thinking, fostering dialogue across the Territories, and providing the tools and skills to enhance cross-Territory initiatives. This year’s summit was chaired by Youth Participants from the British Virgin Islands, the Overseas Territory which currently holds the Presidency and Chairmanship of UKOTA.

Held on Thursday, 27 February 2025 at the British Virgin Islands House in Central London with the theme ‘Diversity & Inclusivity in the Overseas Territories’,  the UKOTA Youth Summit continues to serve as a significant platform for empowering the youth of the UK Overseas Territories. London Offices of the respective UK Overseas Territories, through UKOTA, facilitate the Summit and diaspora engagement.

Mr Durham and Ms Gunther have demonstrated their commitment to fostering positive change within their communities. As the two Youth Participants for Bermuda, they joined other young leaders from Anguilla; British Virgin Islands; Cayman Islands; Falkland Islands; Gibraltar; Montserrat; and Turks and Caicos Islands to engage in meaningful dialogue and share their perspectives on pressing issues. 

As a young leader with a demonstrated leadership, Bermuda Human Rights Activist Taj Donville-Outerbridge had the opportunity to address the UKOTA Youth Summit to give remarks to Youth Participants about achievements made in the space of diversity and inclusivity.

The Government of Bermuda London Office is proud to support Mr Durham, Ms Gunther, and TajDonville-Outerbridge in their participation at the Summit. The involvement of our young people underscores the strength of Bermuda’s connection to the broader Overseas Territories and highlights the importance of cultivating partnerships that inspire and empower our youth to address challenges and opportunities facing the Overseas Territories in an ever-changing world.
