Premier David Burt concluded a highly productive week in London, representing Bermuda at the Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) alongside leaders from other Overseas Territories. The annual gathering provided an important platform to address key issues facing the territories and foster collaboration with the United Kingdom.

During the JMC, Premier Burt engaged in discussions with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Foreign Secretary David Lammy, and Overseas Territories Minister Stephen Doughty. These conversations focused on advancing Bermuda’s strategic priorities, including constitutional reform to enhance autonomy and initiatives to bolster the island’s economic resilience.

In addition to political discussions, Premier Burt met with key players in the financial sector, including representatives from the Bank of England and Lloyd’s of London. These meetings were aimed at reinforcing Bermuda’s position as a global leader in finance and insurance while exploring opportunities for deeper partnerships.

The Premier’s efforts were supported by the Bermuda London Office, led by Director Kimberley Durrant. The London Office plays a pivotal role in ensuring Bermuda’s interests are effectively represented on the international stage.
