As part of Remembrance Sunday observances in the United Kingdom, Ms. Kimberley Durrant, UK Representative for the Government of Bermuda, laid a wreath at the Cenotaph in London on behalf of Bermuda. 

Ms. Durrant joined other Overseas Territories representatives for the annual ocassion at Whitehall, London

The Cenotaph Ceremony is a central event in the United Kingdom’s National Service of Remembrance, held on the second Sunday in November, known as Remembrance Sunday.

The Ceremony commemorates the heroes who have served and sacrificed in the two World Wars, men and women who fought for freedom and peace. 

The wreath-laying at the Cenotaph, an iconic symbol of remembrance, underscores the unwavering gratitude and respect for those who have given their lives in service to their country.

The Ceremony was led by His Majesty, King Charles and the Royal Family. Also in attendance were the UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and senior Cabinet Ministers, High Commissioners and Ambassadors, and military representatives.

All gathered today to lay wreaths of poppies at the base of the Cenotaph. Additionally, veterans, serving members of the armed forces, and members of various organizations also participate in a formal procession, reflecting on the sacrifices made in wartime. 

On this Remembrance Day, we honour the nearly 3,000 brave Bermudians who served and sacrificed.
